Got a reservation for 7 at the last minute Christmas week and was blown away by this restaurant. Still thinking about this lobster scampi

Oceana provides such consistent, excellent food and service that it's my go-to recommendation for nice client dinners. However, after a Broadway musical, my friend and I made a last-minute decision to stop by with our young kids for an early dinner, because we all love seafood. Not only did we love the food as expected, but the staff treated us and the kids just as excellently as the staff always treats us during business dinners, and I just really appreciated that.

Solid seafood experience The tasting menu is a good value if you want to choose something for every category and to sample everything they are known for. All the courses I choose were apparently what they are known for / most popular Tuna tartare. Good portion but nothing special Lobster scampi. Generous portion of lobster and pasta cooked perfectly. Was nice but not spectacular though. Swordfish. One mussel had grit. Shrimp slightly overcooked as was the swordfish. Pistachio semifredo. Delicious. Although the bread base was dry and didn't seem to add anything to the dish. Service was ok. Waiter took my order and provided suggestions when asked. But the rest of the meal they only showed to deliver and remove dishes as well as replenish water and bread. No checkins. No attempt to make an impact. Beautiful decor fitting of the area Overall it's ok and good for price if doing tasting. Nothing spectacular food wise or service wise. Would go back if I felt like seafood and was in the area. But not a place I would plan for.

Wanted to have a lighter dinner instead of the many steakhouses in the area. The restaurant its really large and very nicely done. The service was top notch and they really made us feel special. I try the Oceana drink and it was really tasty. Not super strong or weak. We started our meal with the burrata salad with prosciutto and figs, the salad was delicious and a good portion to share. I went with the chicken and my husband had the Branzino. Both dishes were very well done and we really enjoyed them. This was a great meal.

Food was amazing and flavorful! Portions were bigger than expected. The crab cake was delicious with an incredible sauce. Th grilled branzino was cooked to perfection! Loved the environment, modern and elegant! Would definitely go back. The service was great too!

Had the opportunity to try Oceana, and decided to go with the Filet Mignon for my entree. It was a perfectly cooked medium rare, however I thought it could have been more flavorful or better seasoned. The potato rosti was nice and crunchy, adding a bit of texture to the dish. For dessert, the panna cotta was quite tasty and soft. Service was very attentive and the ambiance was quite upscale and modern. Next time, I might try one of the seafood dishes to see if I like it more!

I am overwhelmed with the burst of flavor in every dish. I love this restaurant's fantastic choice. Unexpectedly, I think I will crave it for a long while. The oysters as a starter, salad, cocktails, plus branzino and pasta for my bestie made our night out.

No idea why this place has a rating in the 3s. I guess food portions are small but that is really not the case. Oceana is a true fine dining experience. The food and the service were marvelous. We were greeted by 2 servers who constantly attended our table and never let our glasses of water be empty. The wine sommelier visited us and told us if we need any drinking recommendations he is here to help which was a nice gesture but both me and my guest don't drink. Let's get to the food. That octopus was to die for and the sauce it was on was thick, salty and sweet. Absolutely perfect. The ceviche was fresh with shaved strawberries and pickled green strawberries. I have never tasted such a distinct ceviche before. Summer vibes. The branzino was amazing and the entree portion was huge. All in all I loved date night here. Very upscale and classy ambiance with amazing service and food. A 4.5/5 experience for me.

Such a beautiful restaurant and a great time! NYC is like my second home, and I wanted something quick but away for my birthday. In comes Oceana... Reservations were smooth. From the time we entered to the time we left, no details were left unmet. It was so personable, that I thought we were the only people in the building. For my appetizer, I ordered oysters on the half shell (of course!); they were very briny and delicious. Entree - I ordered the Lobster Scampi, which encompasses lobster roe linguini and tarragon oil. Oh my! It was so filling, buttery, and plain good! Thoroughly enjoyed. Because it was my birthday, a complimentary chocolate cake was delivered to the table. In my opinion, "complimentary" desserts are not always the best; however, in this instance, the chocolate cake was so decadent, smooth, and rich. Time and time again, the staff came over to ensure all needs were met. We even chatted about things unrelated to the restaurant and dining experience. As I mentioned at the start of this review, NYC is like home to me. So, Oceana will see me again when I return. Do yourself a favor and take yourself, your girlfriends or your boo here. Cheers!
